Suzie McMurtry



bio

I am an interdisciplinary designer from the San Francisco Bay Area. I work as a freelance design researcher, most recently full time in London with Policy Lab UK, where I explored using serious games in energy regulation change, systems change theories in improving social care, film ethnography in building evidence for increasing opportunities for young people, and more. I completed an MA in Material Futures at Central Saint Martins in 2022.

Broadly, I’m interested in socio-ecological systems. I have a background in fiber and printmaking and worked primarily in sustainable fashion from 2017 to 2023.

My practice is directed towards exploring climate resilience, circularity, greenwashing, and regenerative design. I have engaged with these themes using tools from speculative, clothing, material, service, and social design. I have shown my artwork in Colorado and California and my design work in the UK and the Netherlands.


I’m open to full time roles in public policy. Please reach out regarding my availability for freelance workshops, material consulting, or research projects.

  1. Introduction
    1. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the sale and use of art goods ("Goods") by Suzanna McMurtry ("Seller") to you, the purchaser ("Buyer").
    2. By purchasing Goods, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not purchase any Goods.
  2. Goods
    1. The Seller offers for sale a variety of art goods, including but not limited to decorative textiles, prints on paper, oil paintings, limited edition or one-of-a-kind clothing, etc. All Goods are offered "as is" and without warranty, express or implied.
    2. The Seller reserves the right to change the Goods offered for sale at any time.
  3. Purchase and Payment
    1. All purchases are final and non-refundable, except in the case of a Seller-initiated error. Payment must be made in full at the time of purchase, or as otherwise agreed upon in writing.
    2. Payment methods accepted: online payment via Stripe or PayPal. State sales tax and shipping and handling fees, if any, will be stated at the time of purchase.
  4. Intellectual Property
    1. The Buyer acknowledges that all artwork and creative works displayed and sold are the intellectual property of the Seller or, in some cases, licensed by the Seller. The Buyer agrees not to copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Goods without the express written consent of the Seller. All trademarks, logos, and trade names are the property of the Seller.
  5. Use of Goods
    1. The Buyer is authorized to use the Goods for personal use only, unless otherwise stated.
    2. The Buyer may not use the Goods for commercial purposes without the Seller's written consent.
    3. The Buyer is responsible for any copyright or other intellectual property infringements arising from their use of the Goods.
  6. Limitation of Liability
    1. The Seller will not be liable for any damages, losses, or liabilities, direct or indirect, arising from the use of the Goods.
    2. The Seller's liability is limited to the purchase price of the Goods. The Buyer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Seller from any claims arising from their use of the Goods.
  7. Copyright
    1. All copyrights to the artwork and any other material are owned by Suzanna McMurtry. The buyer does not have the right to reproduce, display or create derivative works from the artwork without the express written consent of the Seller.
  8. Cancellations and Returns
    1. If for any reason a Buyer wishes to cancel an order, the Buyer will contact Suzanna McMurtry to request a cancellation and full refund. The Seller will process the request and refund the Buyer within 15 business days of request, unless the item has already been shipped - in that case Seller and Buyer will agree on a course of action.
    2. If a purchase is shipped to the wrong address, Seller will not be held responsible and will not refund the Buyer.
  9. Governing Law
    1. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of California. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of San Francisco County, California.
  10. Entire Agreement
    1. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersede all prior agreements or understandings.
  11. Amendment
    1. The Seller reserves the right to amend or revise these Terms at any time.
